Supercharging Your Academic Research

A cornerstone of any academic field is the ability to carry out quick and effective research. Members of the educational community spend a significant amount of time utilizing the internet for searches to do projects, papers, and other important research. researchers invariably spend countless hours reading through abstracts and webpages that have little to no relevance in the quest to find appropriate and helpful information.
A new application, ChunkIt, has the capacity to essentially eliminate this time spent searching through unrelated and irrelevant abstracts and can provide an invaluable tool for the educational community. ChunkIt Academic works with all major search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc) to provide users the ability to scan through articles and save time and frustration. For example, if a student or researcher is searching for keyword(s) in Google, he/she will receive a list of potential matches in their results. However, in order to find something useful, the person may be forced to read through many webpages before finding something of genuine value. Instead of going to each webpage, reading through them, and then repeating the process for each result, the researcher could eliminate the time spent on useless pages by using ChunkIt. As keywords are entered into ChunkIt, Google search results will come up alongside ChunkIt results that use the keywords to search within each link provided by Google. A preview of all relevant passages that the results provide is displayed next to the Google page, and he/she will have the ability to scan through relevant abstracts before clicking on the full article. By using ChunkIt, the researcher can see the useful content a) in their specific page, and b) in all linked pages provided by Google.
This capability in effect assures that all abstracts that a student clicks on will contain important and useful information. During my interactive and dynamic session, I will provide participants with the ability to use ChunkIt as they would in their professional lives. As the academic community begins to utilize this revolutionary tool, researching scholarly articles and papers will become much more streamlined. The time and frustration saved by ChunkIt makes it an indispensable tool for anyone in the academic community.
